Welcome to the Mission in Action website!
Orphans: Our collective responsibility
Welcome to our website. Please feel free to browse through
our website and to contact us if you
have any questions. Thank
you for taking the time to read about the work that we are doing
and for helping us make a difference in these children’s
lives.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved
in the fashion show on 28th February 2006, with your help and
encouragement we managed to raise over £15,000 which was
put straight towards building the roof on the new orphanage.
The 2nd annual Mission in Action UK (MIA UK) Gala Evening will
consist of a four course dinner
followed by a fashion show and fundraising auction. Entertainment
only tickets will also be sold, giving
patrons access to the fashion show and auction events of the evening.
You can find out more about this event being held at Cargo on 21st
April 2007 on the Projects/Fashion Show page
Please also visit Mission in Action’s official website www.nakurubabyorphanage.com
Mission in Action was established by an Australian family who relocated
to Nakuru, Kenya to dedicate their lives to the people of Nakuru.
The official website is at www.nakurubabyorphanage.com this
site is for UK fundraising (mostly Edinburgh!)
MIA is currently in the process of building their baby orphanage.
Once this is complete they will be able to foster up to 30-40 newborn
babies and children up to four years.
MIA is currently in the process of building their baby orphanage.
Once this is complete they will be able to foster up to 30-40 newborn
babies and children up to four years.
The MIA family are currently living in a town house in Nakuru while
the orphanage is being built. They are already fostering twelve
newborn babies and children, but their space is getting crowded
and the family are finding it difficult to say no to any new additions
to the family.
Our original mission was to raise £5000.00 for
MIA through our gala evening at Cargo on Tuesday
28th Feb 2006. We went to Nakuru in March
2006 to volunteer our help to the Mission in Action
family. We paid for our own airfares and brought over medical
supplies and clothes, books and toys for the children.
Please look around our new site to find out more about what we
are doing to help children with our events,
including a prestigious fashion show,
and you can also help us by donating here.
If you would like any more information about Mission in Action,
